July 29, 2008

I got this through a Chihuahua group I'm on and it is just profound, so I thought I would share it here:
Thoughts to live by:
Life is too short to wake up with regrets.

So love the people who treat you right.
Love the ones who don't just because you can
everything happens for a reason.
If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.
If it changes your life, let it.
Kiss slowly
Forgive quickly
never said life would be easy.
He just promised it would be worth it.

Another cool thing I got through the Chihuahua Group: http://www.theepicentre.com/Spices/spiceref.html
It is all about spices, how to select them, how to store them, what to use them in etc. Just a great reference site for us 'not so knowledgable' people :-)

Weigh In July 27, 2008

Starting Weight: 250#
Last Week: 237.2#
Today's Weight: 233.8#
This Weeks Gain or Loss: Stayed the same
Total Loss: 16.2#

Considering that I moved so wasn't on plan 100% and also am retaining water due to my 'monthly' visitor, I think staying the same is pretty good. Today my hubby made soup for lunch 'Sassy Salsa Soup' mix from Two Sisters Gourmet, he doctored it up a bit adding crushed tomatoes and red beans, it has a wonderful flavor. Then I added a little sour cream, and some cheese and we had it with Fritos Scoops chips. It was very good. Then we had tacos for dinner. I didn't get all my water in today but I think we did pretty well all things considered.

Mamma Mia

I went to the theater tonight with my sister Lara, and saw Mamma Mia and OMG seriously one of my ALL TIME favorite movies! It is up there with The Wedding Date, Ever After, Pride & Prejudice! It's amazing! Has an awesome cast and is just well put together. It was so good I cried...I know not a hard feat, but it seriously is a moving film. I LOVE ABBA music!

Weigh In July 20, 2008

Starting Weight: 250#
Last Week: 237.2#
Today's Weight: 233.8#
This Weeks Gain or Loss: Loss 3.4#
Total Loss: 16.2#

I came across this saying through a group I'm on, and it really hit home, because when you are overweight SO many people judge by what they see on the outside NOT what's inside, and they REALLY miss seeing what's on the inside. My hubby is a great example of this. Many women shunned him because of his weight...I guess it's a good thing because he was saved for me! I fell in love with him through what's on the inside first (we met online, he even proposed online before we met face to face), and the outside was just an added bonus for me, as he is a very handsome man.

Diet: I found the YUMMIEST snack and it's not that fattening. It's from Two Sisters Gourmet It's acai berry & cherry preserves. I also LOVE their Pear Fig Preserves
Neither one of them are that fattening and they are REALLY good! The acai one has 35 calories, 0g fat, no fiber, so it's 1 point on Weight Watchers. The pear fig one is 50calories, 0g fat, 0g fiber, so it's also 1 point on WW.
Water: Got it all in, drank too many sodas though
Exercise: Packing & cleaning
Steps: My pedometer is acting funky :-(

July 19, 2008

Diet: I had a lot of the little 100 calorie packs. Had a Grilled Chicken Club from wendys, and I was quite proud instead of french fries I opted for a salad for a side!
Water: Got it all in 2.5 mugs (130oz), had more sodas than I should have today though due to stress....read about that on the bottom.
Exercise: Walking around Lowes and Walmart, as well as a bit of yardwork and housework, packing
Steps: 12,856 about 6 miles

Today was a fairly okay day. Although the stress of dealing with our current landlord is about to put me over the edge. She sent my hubby an email stating that we did not pay last months rent so she'll be expecting our $1390 by the 23rd. Um NO, so hubby researched (he has EVERY e-mail she's ever sent) and looked at a copy of our notorized lease and sure enough, it was in there that we paid it, because she was even nice enough to split it up. So he sent her all the details and told her we can even back it up with bank records. Lo and behold....she sent him an email sort of apologizing for the mistake, and then tells us that if our 'soon to be' landlord should call for a reference she would gladly give it to him and have NOTHING but good comments about us....um WRONG!
Rob called the 'soon to be' landlord and he said that he called her and told her who he was and she hung up on him twice! Can you believe it? GRRRRRRRRRRRR! What a baby! Anyways she also told us that if the lawn was not green by Aug 22nd when we are out of here we will not be getting our security deposit back. Okay, the idiot before us totally messed up everything, we have auto sprinklers in the back but they work worth squat, so the lawn is a bit of a mess. HOWEVER, my younger brother was gracious enough to come out and help us, he mowed the front lawn and then we put down some seed, and watered it good, it needs to be watered twice a day for the next 3-4 weeks. Well seeing as how we are moving on Wednesday! Kind of going to be a bit hard. So we are going to be buying some auto time things and hose splitters so it will get the entire yard...then just set them up.

July 18, 2008

I'm not good at coming up with 'catchy' names for each day so I'm going to just date them. Hope that's okay. My blogs may be sparse over the next week or so as we are moving! YEAH! We found an awesome place to live! I can't wait! Ok, after much research, I've decided I'm only going to 'record' my weight once a week on Sundays. I found a VERY informative website through weight watchers community: http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/library/weight/scale.htm
It gives some VERY informative details about why you should only weight in once a week, but if you obsess (sort of like me) and just HAVE to know each day, understand the reasons as to why it may fluctuate from day to day. Case in point my 10-12# water weight loss this week.

Diet: I did reasonably well. Although I am stressing due to our upcoming move so I probably ate a little more of my hubby's homemade beef jerky than I should have. It was fantastic though. He did an awesome job!
Water: Got it all in & then some :-(
Exercise: Does Packing & Cleaning count? It should because I am utterly exhausted. My hubby and I are going to try and get it all done (at least the majority of our stuff moved) in 3 days. 1 day loading the truck and finishing packing, then an early morning trip on the first day, unload, then back to load up again and hopefully we can make 2 or 3 trips each day. My brother is going to help us as well. We are only moving about 1/2 an hour drive away so it shouldn't be too bad.
Steps: Over 10,000. I definitely get my steps in while I'm at work.

PS. I would LOVE to start seeing some comments posted in my blog. I know y'all are reading it ;-). Please leave your comments and if you have any suggestions or anything.

Diet: Did good. Except dinner, we had pizza tonight, and I ate WAY more than I 'should' have. UGH! Feeling it now.....
Water: Got it all in
Exercise: Not as much as I should have
Steps: About 4000, but that was just around the house!

One thing I noticed is my 'lounge' around pants are looser than normal! YEAH! Usually they are quite tight around my thighs, but they are looser now. Which makes me feel REALLY good!

July 16, 2008

Starting Weight: 250#
Today's Weight: 235.2
Today's Gain or Loss: .4

Water: Not as good as I should have
Exercise: Walking a little bit

July 15, 2008

Today started out slow at work, then ended in utter and total chaos. At one point I had 4 people waiting to be helped. Some days are like this where we need 10 people helping customers, then others are very slow where we only need a couple. We had someone bring in a cat for adoption today. Right now we have over 50 kittens (30+ are Siamese) for adoption and about 5 adult cats. We 'normally' wouldn't be accepting any new ones but I felt bad...Anyways someone robbed this lady's house. They used the cat (which wasn't hers) to lure her 'attack' dog out of the house then the cat I guess snuck back into the house. They took EVERYTHING this lady had. She said that she didn't know how she was going to feed her own 2 cats let alone a third She gave us a huge dog crate that she'd been keeping the cat in. Every little bit helps.

Starting Weight:
250#
Today's Weight: Didn't weigh in running late
Today's Gain or Loss: unknown
Total Loss: 14.4#
Diet: Did good. I had my usual "tuna" green salad for lunch. With my Slim Fast (or slim fast wannabe) shake. I had a chocolate one today and it was actually really good. I added a couple of snacks today to try and 'satisfy' my water itchies. I had some "Brothers" Potato Crisps from Costco, they are FAT FREE! 35 Calories and 1g Fiber which is a 0 point treat for weight watchers! WAHOO, that's always good. Then I am/was a cheeto addict (when In the mood) so I picked up a 100 Calorie combo pack at Costco that has cheetos, doritos and sun chips in them, they have 2 points w/weight watchers. I was surprised how little 'satisfied' me. I guess now that my 'mind' set is working on getting changed I don't need an entire hugoid bag. IF I do buy the big bags as soon as I get them I am going to be dividing them into snack sized portions...easier and reduces the risk of temptation.
Water: Better today...not as much. I am going to 'measure' what I put into my mug so I can keep better track. Only 2 Diet Cokes. This is like a miracle...a 12 pack at work has lasted me more than 2 days! MIRACLE I tell you!
Exercise:
Steps:13,525 Not as many as yesterday but I didn't walk at work, although I did walk around Costco for about an hour.

Before Picture

K I'm going to be brave and post my before pictures:

Head Shot:

Full Body:

My sizes are: Scrub Pants 2x Tops 1x (could get away with smaller tops except they wouldn't fit over my big hips). My goal is to get down to a size Medium (my hips won't allow for anything smaller)
Pants: 20-22 depending on brand My goal is to get to a size 10/12 which is what I was when I got married 3 years ago.

July 14, 2008

Today is going well...got a tip from one of our clients just for helping him, started off my morning great, then I had a cat/kitten play paddy wack on my face/hands with his teeth/claws....OUCH...didn't feel so good, I was trying to take her from her owner to take him to the hospital area, guess she didn't like it (which is why it's ALWAYS a good idea to put your cat's in a carrier when taking them to the vet). It will get better.' Unfortunately the day only got more stressful, the phones were very busy, I had 3 of our most 'challenging' customers either in the building or on the phone today, don't get me wrong I love my customers it's just some days when we are super super busy, they seem more 'long winded' than normal on the phone.

I also found out my little Chihuahua is going to have to have MAJOR surgery sometime soon for her hip. I'll post more about it later.

Starting Weight:
250#
Today's Weight: 235.6
Total Loss: 14.4#

Diet: I did pretty good, except when I first got home I was famished...I didn't have my afternoon snack which could explain, so I grabbed the first thing I could find...left over Garlic Bread from last night...not the best choice.
Water: I think I'm drinking too much! 3.5 mugs (52oz each)
Exercise: I took 15 minutes at lunch time and walked around our 'doggie' daycare arena type area. I had my little Chihuahua puppy Sebastian and Zoey with me, Sebastian was on lead and Zoey was not, Sebastian is training to be a show dog. Zoey followed us around it was so cute!
Steps: I had 14,064 Steps when I left work, which was over 6 miles of walking! At home I gotan 1088 additional steps! WOW I didn't realize I was so active on the job. I guess I am when I have 3 different sets of stairs to different areas as well as running and retrieving animals etc.

Weigh in July 13, 2008

Overall today was an awesome day. I was very happy and excited and did good on my diet. Which is a bonus for me, as usually on my day's off I am a nibbler on anything and everything that I can think of. My hubby teased me because I was in the bathroom a lot but drinking as much water as I did...somehow I'm not surprised. He told me that he was the one that took the water pill not me. I even did breakfast and made a nice salad for lunch. Let's just hope that I can continue. I am worried about my little Chihuahua Zoey, she is my walking health problem, you can find out more about her by visiting her website Anyways she seems to be having a really difficult time sitting. I know she arthritis in her knees (yes at 2 years old) but it seems more than that. She will be seeing the vet (aka Grandpa) tomorrow while I'm at work.

Starting Weight: 250#
Today's Weight: 237.2
Today's Gain or Loss: 1.4#
Total Loss: 13.8#
Diet: Stuck to it pretty good...hubby made a chicken alfredo lasagna for dinner though so that kind of hampered things...BUT I did watch portions, and had a veggie and salad to go with.
Water: Got it all in 2.5 mugs (130oz)...good way to keep me motivated using the mug, plus it stays icy almost all day!
Exercise: 150 Steps on my new mini step climber...OUCH I'm sore :-) Baby Steps!
Steps: 5138 which I think is good for being home all day and not really trying.

Back in the saddle!

I actually started my diet in January of this year and lost 9#, then I had a major setback....life....stress happened, and since I am a MEGA stress eater....I put back on the 9# I lost and gained 20 more! UGH! But the good news is....since I weighed myself a few days ago I was 250#....I'm down to 238.6....yes you read that right. I think about 10# of it was monthly water weight. But I am doing great on the diet so far....2 days in. I am doing a combo of Slim Fast with Weight Watchers and I am trying some 'low fat' recipes from e-Mealz.com. So far they have been good. I am going to try and keep track daily of how I do on the diet, water and exercise, I think that will make me more accountable for my 'actions' so to speak. There will be ups and downs, I'm sure. But bear with me as I make these lifestyle changes.

Starting Weight: 250#
Today's Weight: 238.6
Today's Gain or Loss: 12.4# (pretty sure 10+ was water gain)

Total Loss: 12.4#
Diet: 100%
Water: 2.5 (52oz mugs)
Exercise: Just walking around Costco, Harmons and Wal-Mart for about 3 hours...I think that counts! Plus I got a step machine and a home walking workout video, I'm excited to try.
